Defend the Children Orphanage Drainage
During our earliest days here in Port-au-Prince we met a group of community leaders who run an orphanage called Hands Together to Defend the Children (HTDC). The building which housed the orphanage was destroyed by the earthquake and, ever since, the group has faced huge challenges. We recently finished a project to provide immediate relief from flooding at the orphanage through the construction of a drainage system, and we are now actively pursuing long-term solutions to other problems they face. Haitian Student Exchange
We’re currently working with a group of local students through a series of weekly workshops and cultural exchanges which build the students’ confidence and help them develop new skills. Read more »
We’ve recently started registering volunteers to work with us in Haiti. 
We’re extremely excited to announce that on 19th July, 2010, EDV Executive Director Andrew Chaggar was selected as one of Vodafone’s World of Difference International Winners for 2010. 
On 28th June, 2010, after completing a comprehensive assessment, EDV has begun a programme in Port au Prince. 
With work in Asia completed, EDV has refocused on Haiti. The assessment team landed in Port au Prince on 10th June, 2010. 
Our three months of assessments across Asia have made it clear that EDV will not be able to affect long-term, positive change in the lives of disaster survivors in Asia. Assessment officially ended on 6th May, 2010.
