Frequently Asked Questions

Donating and fundraising can be confusing, and we often hear the same questions about supporting IDV. This page answers some commonly asked questions. If you still have questions after reading this page, just contact us. We'd be happy to help!

How much money should I donate?

If you can only afford to make a small donation you shouldn't feel like it isn't worth giving. £5 may not go very far in your hometown, but such a "small" donation can provide more than 100 hot meals for evacuees during floods in the Philippines. i

If you can afford to make a big donation, the sky's the limit. You could fund the manufacture of a rescue boat or years of education to help Haitian children and adults escape poverty.

How will my donation be used?

You can find out more about how we spend donated funds on our “How IDV uses your donations” page.

Can I allocate my donation?

If you have a specific use for your money in mind, we'd love to hear it. Just contact us to arrange the details.

Are there tax incentives on my donation?

German tax payers can make a tax deductible donation here.

UK tax payers donating via Just Giving will automatically have 25% added to their donation through gift aid, making your donation count even more.

US tax payers can make tax deductible donations to IDV by donating through our Omprakash page.
