European Disaster Volunteers

Have you ever wanted to work for EDV? Well, here’s your chance. The Vodafone Foundation's World of Difference UK programme gives 500 people the chance to work for their dream charity, and get paid.

They’ve already helped hundreds of people donate their skills and experience to the charities of their choice, and this year they could help you donate yourself to EDV and change the lives of disaster survivors.

In 2012 two talented individuals from EDV won World of Difference awards and worked for us developing our grant funding database and creating a marketing plan. This year, we’re hoping to find six talented individuals who will apply for Vodafone awards and then work for EDV helping us raise funds, update our image and streamline our systems.

Advertising Coordinator

A key challenge for EDV is building recognition of our young charity. We’re seeking an advertising coordinator to help us develop our google adwords campaigns, develop ads which can be placed in other publications, and identify additional free or low cost advertising opportunities where we could promote our name .

A key aspect of this role will be helping our directors and trustees understand how to approach advertising for EDV. Advertising experience, particularly with google adwords, is required.

Marketing Coordinator

We’re giving our image a face-lift, and we’d like someone with experience in marketing and brand management to help. This individual needs to have extensive experience in non-profit marketing and communication. They should also have experience in SEO and be willing to get their hands dirty in all areas relating to marketing and communications.

Finance & Accounting Coordinator

Our rapid growth over the past few years has strained our financial systems , and we’d like someone to help us move from a spreadsheet based system to a proprietary software package. This individual will have experience in preparing SORP compliant charity accounts as well as with software such as Sage, Quickbooks or Paxton.

Grant Fundraising Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced grant writer to apply for funding for our work in Haiti, for our UK costs, and for our rapid response fund. Experience securing grant funding is essential.

Corporate Fundraising Coordinator

We are anxious to develop relationships with companies and are looking for a talented individual with good connections in the corporate world to help us build new, lasting funding relationships.

Fundraising Events Coordinator

At EDV, our fantastic supporters are one of our biggest resources. To help make their impact even bigger we’d love to run more events - annual or otherwise - to raise funds and inspire all those who make EDV a success. We’re seeking someone to help us develop an events strategy. A key part of this role will be to inspire by example, so if you have ever thought about climbing a mountain or taking a “polar plunge” for charity, here’s your chance.
