From March to May 2010, EDV's assessment team was active in the Philippines following a devastating string of typhoons that struck in the autumn of 2009.
EDV's assessment team arrived in the Philippines on 19th March and began to meet with local organisations to assess the possibility of an EDV deployment to support the long term recovery of affected communities in the Philippines
Sadly, after more than a month of assessing in the Philippines it became clear that EDV lacked the funding to affect positive, long-term change in the lives of disaster survivors and would therefore be unable to deploy.
Full the full story on our findings in the Philippines you can see our Philippines Assessment Report here.
The end of our assessment in the Philippines was also the end of our activities in Asia. We have prepared a full Assessment Report detailing our experiences in Asia in their entirety. You can find that report here. As the Full Report is quite long, we've also prepared a report summary, which you can view here.
