Programmes & Projects

Our programme in Port-au-Prince aims to do more than provide relief — our goal is to empower survivors to direct their own recovery and create stronger, more sustainable communities.

All of our activities here in Haiti will be in line with our mission statement and operating principles.

We have several goals for our programme, including:

  • Providing communities in and around Port-au-Prince with the skills they need to direct their own recovery and become stronger, more self-sufficient communities after we leave. This means we must avoid creating dependency on EDV within the community.
  • Supporting the development and growth of local groups which provide essential services.
  • Developing and providing practical, sustainable solutions to problems and challenges faced by communities in Haiti post-earthquake.

Each of the projects listed on this page address one or more of these goals.
