Burners Without Borders

Burners Without Borders (BWB) is a grassroots, volunteer-driven, community leadership organization whose goal is to unlock the creativity of local communities to solve problems and bring about meaningful change. Since its founding in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, BWB has grown into a dynamic international organization made up of an army of highly creative volunteers.

In communities across the world people inspired by the activities of BWB are taking the initiative to bring creative solutions to issues they care about. Whether it's using art to save camp fires at San Francisco's Ocean Beach or mobilizing volunteers to support the survivors of the Pisco, Peru earthquake, it's BWB's innovative solutions that make a real impact.

EDV and BWB have long shared a strong connection, as our founding members worked with BWB in Peru following a devastating earthquake before going on to form EDV.

BWB is both a partner and a supporter of EDV, providing initial financial support of $500 through their “community stimulus programme” and by a recent donatiion of $3,000 to help us house 47 orphans here in Haiti. We are also very grateful for BWB’s help in recruiting volunteers.

The support and creative energy that BWB continue to provide for EDV have been invaluable, and we look forward to our continued collaborations and mutual support.
