GrassRoots United

EDV’s primary goal in Haiti is to engage with disaster affected communities to help those survivors lead their own recoveries and become stronger and more independent in the long term. To accomplish our goal here in Haiti we’re working closely with GrassRoots United (GRU).

GRU is an international disaster response organisation that provides resources and connectivity to groups looking to operate quickly in disaster environments. With a focus on continuity and community involvement GRU strives to ensure that community collaboration continues long after international aid groups move on.

GRU’s focus on facilitating the work of other groups helped us quickly identify and define our role here in Haiti. Their work in connecting NGOs has helped our programmes grow and their assistance sourcing resources is a constant help. Working with GRU lets us provide the services that our community needs more quickly and more efficiently.

The facilitation that GRU provides ranges from providing international volunteers to lending tools to sourcing tents which can be distributed on just one night’s notice in an emergency.

We are grateful for all the help GRU has already provided and look forward to letting our partnership grow.
